Why isn't Lifestraw still selling these older style filters? I don't want to purchase another hard plastic water bottle when the one I have is perfectly fine!

The replacement arrived in good condition. The packaging was undamaged, as was the 2-stage microfilter. I like using this product because it really improves the taste of the tap water which we have here. Your home filter is also great--I keep it in my fridge for good-tasting cold water all day long.

I purchased this replacement because my son, who likes to collect rain water and use his LifeStraw to filter it, left water in his bottle and by the time I got to it, which was about two weeks to a month later, the interior straw had disintegrated and broke apart with brown stuff growing in between the fibers. There should be a warning for directions of use toward customers like my teen who doesn’t think to wash his bottles and keep them dry.

I bought this to replace my old straw (that I had zero issues with) but I cannot get this weird chemical taste to go away. It tastes awful, I googled everything I could to fix it. I soaked it in hot water and the taste will not go away. I haven’t used my water bottle in over a week because of it.

I love my Lifestraw Go! I have never even considered any other filtration bottle because I love this one. I have several for my family just in case they are ever needed for an emergency. Peace of mind. I have gotte 2 filters that had a chlorine taste that would not go away but Lifestraw took care of it immediately.

I am very pleased with this filter. It takes the nasty taste out of water and with its two stage setup I feel confident it is removing all the bacteria, parasites, and other things Lifestraw says it will. I plan on using this filter and water bottle for a long time.

I drink mostly just water using my lifestraw water bottle. I usually order two straws at a time which lasts a good couple of months each. Water always tastes better.

Your product gives me great confidence in the purity of the water I'm drinking. Of course, I am not running the water through any kind of analysis between the straw and my mouth, I am trusting your marketing information. I have insured that all my children, their spouses and my grandchildren all use a LifeStraw for their water drinking needs and they receive regular filter replacements from me. I had a concern over all the plastic bottles....so I started using a LifeStraw bottle with replacement filters. I change the filter every 4-5 months or so. No more plastic bottle use and I save money too. Still very pleased.

I purchased the Universal filter unit and used it infrequently while fly fishing for a few years. It eventually was impossible to suck water through the filter despite the fact I only used clear stream waters. Replacement works great, but I wondered why the original filter failed after not a great deal of use. I can’t explain but know of friends who’ve experienced a similar issue. Thankfully Lifestraw replaced the filter for me and I’m grateful for that. Lifestraw stands behind their products based on my experience.

still don't understand when the filter needs to be changed

although we have not used our new Lifestaw's yet we are extremely happy with them. we have placed them in our emergency kits..for that just in case when we need them. thanks! :-)

I bought this item 6 months ago and have enjoyed using it. Living on a ship out on the ocean randomly, this item helps being able to drink the water a lot of times. I've used this item every day, and have recommended it to every person I work with. My only issue is that my bottle leaks at the top some times and haven't found any reason why.

I bought a LifeStraw Go at REI in the summer and also a replacement filter with it. I really like it - but eventually the original LifeStraw filter needed replacing. I did that and inserted the replacement filter but it does taste very strange, sort of like plastic/chemical taste... I rinsed and soaked it in water for hours also, but it still has that off taste which makes me not event want to drink water with it. Is this normal? Is there anything else I need to do before using?

I'm very particular about my gear, especially the essentials like water filtration. If you follow the instructions there is no better water filter system out there, whether you use the straw or the Bottle. I carry both and replace the filters every year or so, even though they could probably go longer. Also, you can't ignore them for a year and then expect them to work like new

I bought this 6 months ago and found it to work very well for the first several months. After that it started leaking and developed an air leak even after changing out both filters which makes it difficult to use. It has to sit upright or will leak out.

The replacement filter is fine. But I had to buy it to replace a filter that I only used a few months. I last used my previous filter in September/October 2018 (originally started using on hikes in Spring 2018). Then went to use it for the first time on Easter weekend 2019 and could get zero water through the filter after trying for an extended period of time. I'm not sure if not using it for 6 months caused it to dry out and become ineffective. But I definitely had not using the previous filter for the length or time and number of gallons it claims to last for. I like this product and what the company does, just hope the filters are quality as they are pricey to replace.
